A core part of our work is to deliver effective services
to voluntary organisations and self help groups to strengthen their work
with individuals and communities in Derby. At any one time our Development
team is working with around 75 groups, of which approximately 15% are
minority ethnic groups. This is in addition to our specialist service
for groups from minority ethnic communities.
Our service gives special support on the key challenges of running an organisation:
- starting a new group, especially self help groups and those from black and minority ethnic communities
- management advice for existing organisations at all stages of development
- advice on employment matters and other issues for organisations with staff.
