Membership
Are you a voluntary or community organisation working within
the city of Derby? If so, why not join Derby CVS?
Membership of Derby CVS is open to any voluntary or community
group based in or representing those living or working in Derby City.
All members must support our aims and objectives.
We currently have over 200 member organisations. We support our members
by providing them with a range of services and by acting
as the voice for the local voluntary and community sector.
The benefits of membership
All members have access to our complete range of services.
For example, we can:
- provide funding advice and information;
- offer support and advice in developing good management
practice;
- provide advice on employment matters and other issues
for organisations with staff;
- recruit and place volunteers, and support those responsible
for managing volunteers;
- offer training and development opportunities;
- represent the sector on local and national partnership
bodies and forums; and
- support groups wanting to get involved in policy development.
For more information about the services we offer see our
leaflet 'How can we help you?' or take a look through this website.
Members will also receive:
- access to a wide range of information, including details
of training events and funding opportunities;
- free subscription to the CVS newsletter 'Reach Out' and
reduced rates for advertising;
- discounted rates for CVS training courses;
- reduced rates for the hire of training equipment, including
a TV and overhead projector;
- lower hourly rates for the hire of the training rooms at CVS; and
- a say in the running of our organisation, including the
right to nominate members to our Management Board and vote at our
AGM.

We have a tiered system of membership charges that are based
on your organisation's total annual turnover.
- Groups with a total annual turnover of under £10,000
are entitled to free membership.
